APPROACH
Couture Design Associates is a small residential design firm that specializes in custom homes, renovations and preservation projects suited to the individual needs and desires of our clients with no two projects being the same. We believe that every great project starts with listening to the client and discussing their needs and desires for their home and using that information to develop a design that addresses all of them. The following quote from one of the greatest 19th century American architects, Richard Morris Hunt, has always been a guiding principle:
"The first thing you've got to remember is that it's your clients money you're spending. Your business is to get the best results you can following their wishes. If they want you to build a house upside down standing on it's chimney, it's up to you to do it, and still get the best possible results." Richard Morris Hunt
Each project is viewed within it’s own unique context, whether it be an urban setting, seaside lot, or a wooded site. Other contextual cues like solar orientation and privacy are considered along with the scale and styles of surrounding properties with a goal to produce a beautiful and comfortable home for how we live today that addresses all of the clients needs and adds to the surroundings in which it is built or renovated.
Remaining a small firm has allowed CDA to cater to the client’s every need with JP remaining the designer and primary contact throughout the process. Additionally, he has staffed his firm with valuable team members that have experience in graphics, preservation, and project management that give clients confidence in our services and our ability to carry their project to a successful completion.
